The Dallas YMCA’s mission has always been rooted in serving community needs—and as North Texas evolves, so must our spaces. The remarkable population growth and economic shifts of the past decade have illuminated a clear truth: in order to meet the moment and prepare for tomorrow, we must invest boldly in the places where community happens.

In 2018, the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas launched a strategic planning initiative, partnering with a third-party firm to assess how our facilities and geographic reach aligned with emerging needs. That work became the foundation for a renewed commitment to capital development—transforming and expanding our existing branches to better serve our communities today and into the future.

Since then, we've embraced a forward-looking capital strategy that deepen our commitment to our existing communities and expand our reach geographically to positively impact the people we serve daily, and North Texas as a whole.

Our capital efforts are powered by a belief in the long-term impact of place. Whether it’s revitalizing a beloved neighborhood Y or expanding our spaces to serve more families, each project strengthens our ability to meet the needs of the communities we serve.

We invite you to explore the capital projects that are shaping the future of the Y—and to be part of building something enduring.

Waxahachie Y Rendering

Waxahachie Family YMCA

Today, Waxahachie is booming, with an average of 130 new residents per month in 2023. By 2030, Waxahachie is expected to have a population of more than 60,000. As our community grows, so does the demand for more programs and services at our Y, and we have a bold vision to help meet the needs of our community.

With that in mind, Waxahachie Family YMCA has launched a $3,700,000 dollar capital campaign to renovate and expand the current building. The renovation and expansion will allow the Y to be able to double our membership to 14,000 and grow our programs four-fold.

J.E.R. Chilton YMCA at Rockwall

For over 50 years, the J.E.R. Chilton YMCA has been an invaluable resource to Rockwall residents, making fitness, swimming lessons, youth sports, and out-of-school activities accessible for all.

Rapid population growth here in Rockwall has outpaced our current Y programming capacity, highlighting the need for expansion. The J.E.R. Chilton YMCA at Rockwall has launched a $5,200,000 M capital campaign to renovate and expand our current building, to best serve the needs of our community.
